What Cartoon Cat is Your Favorite?
Puss in Boots is one of the most famous cartoon cats around. He helps his master attain wealth through nefarious schemes.
Hello Kitty is another cat everyone knows about, thanks to her being on everything Sanrio makes.
Mufasa and his son Simba from The Lion King are also famous cartoon cats.
Garfield
Garfield is a fat, lazy orange and black cat with a dry sense of humor. He is the star of a long-running comic strip, and is perhaps one of the most well known cartoon cats in the world. He loves lasagne, sleeps a lot, and hates Mondays. He lives with his bland owner Jon Arbuckle and a dimwitted dog named Odie.
Garfield derides Odie and often pranks him, but never intentionally causes harm. He also despises Nermal, a smaller, cuter cat who always gets into trouble.
This fictional feline is so popular because he’s totally relatable. Everyone has a lazy side, and it’s easy to get caught up in his sarcasm and wit. He’s also a total foodie, and is obsessed with lasagna. And he’s definitely not afraid to speak his mind. Unlike the Man with the Upside-Down Face, who does things for his own sick and twisted pleasure, Garfield is a morally good cat.
Tom and Jerry
Tom and Jerry are arguably the most famous cartoon cats. They have been around since 1940 and have remained popular ever since.
Each episode usually centers around Tom and Jerry fighting or chasing each other. While they do get hurt in the process, they always seem to come out on top.
Tom is a cat who lives a pampered life and takes pleasure in tormenting Jerry, a small brown mouse. Although he occasionally tries to eat Jerry, Tom mostly chases him to tease him and inflict pain.
He was first named Jasper in the first short, Puss Gets the Boot, but has been officially named Tom since the second one. He is a domestic shorthair tuxedo cat with white paws and an orange face. He has a tuxedo collar and always wears it. His defining feature is his huge grin that is full of yellow teeth that appear to be stained with blood. He also has a large forehead and eyebrow markings.
Figaro from Pinocchio
Figaro is a small tuxedo cat who made his debut in Disney’s 1940 film Pinocchio. He is Geppetto’s pet along with the goldfish Cleo. Despite being a bit of a jerk, he has a heart of gold and is very loyal to his friends. He dislikes waiting, baths and being made a fool of but loves his owners Geppetto and Pinocchio very much.
In recent appearances in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Minnie’s Bow-Toons and Mickey and the Roadster Racers, he has become even sweeter than in Pinocchio. This is likely because he has been tormented by the supposedly cosmic Cartoon Cat, who takes different forms to torment humanity.
The only thing we know for sure about the infamous Cartoon Cat is that its fingers are slender and sharp, and they change in length depending on how it feels. It has also been shown to have a rubber-like texture on its skin. It is believed that it may take on the form of a 1939 cartoon to torment humans.
Duchess from The Aristocats
A white cat named Duchess went viral in 2018 for her resemblance to the mother cat in Disney’s film The Aristocats. The movie follows the story of a wealthy opera diva, Madame Adelaide Bonfamille, and her three kittens, Berlioz, Marie, and Toulouse. They are rescued from the mansion of their owner’s butler, Edgar, by Thomas O’Malley and his band of stray cats.
In a drunk AMA Trevor did, he revealed that Cartoon Cat loves to commit vicious violence. His skin has a rubber-like texture and his mouth is a terrifying grin filled with teeth that look like they have blood on them. He is also said to be “malleable” like a 30s rubber-hose cartoon, able to change his size and the length, presence and absence of his limbs at will.
A live-action remake of the movie is in development with Questlove attached to direct. It’s unclear if the main character, Duchess, will be voiced by Questlove or another actor, but we’re sure looking forward to seeing the new version of this classic.
